If your received your postcard in the mail, keep it for your records, this is proof that we have received your application for Section 8. Disregard the information printed on the back. If you have any changes to report please do it in writing, include your Name and Social Security Number, and if you have a copy of your application, included it as well. Please write Section 8 on the OUTSIDE of your envelope so it may be forwarded to the right department. If you would like to know if we received your application or where you are on the waitlist please call after January 2012, and ask if the applications have been put into the system, if they are not we will have a new estimated date.

ATTENTION HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER (SECTION 8) PARTICIPANTS
· Looking for employment and want to get off of cash-aid?
· Want to save money and build your assets?
· If your answer is YES, then consider enrolling into our voluntary Family Self-Sufficiency Program here at the Housing Authority.
· Once enrolled, a free savings account will be set up in your name, which will transform your income earnings increase into savings.
· As your family’s work earnings increase, the Housing Authority will deposit a percentage of the amount of the increased rental portion that you pay into a savings account.
· The savings may be used for example, to pay for college or vocational education, to purchase or repair a vehicle needed for work, to start a business, or to buy a home.
