Applicants must complete and submit an official application form, available at our main office or from our website and any other required documents no later than 5:00 p.m. on the final day specified in the announcement. A separate application must be filed for each job opening. Resumes will be accepted, but may not be substituted for the required application forms.

The requirements on the front of  job announcement represent only the minimum required to file an application. Meeting the listed requirements does not guarantee that a candidate will qualify for an examination or be placed on an eligible list. An eligible list containing the names of the most qualified applications will be compiled based on the scores received in all parts of the examination.

A list of eligible applicants is made each time there is a job opening. The names of the top persons on the list are sent to the department in which the opening exists to arrange for interviews. The department may appoint any one of the persons, and the names of the remaining applicants are returned to the eligible list to be considered for the next vacancy.

A medical examination paid by the Housing Authorities is required of each employee. The employee's physical condition must be consistent with the requirements of the job duties to be performed. Candidates are cautioned not to quit or give notice to present employers until the medical examination has been completed and passed.

Employees whose classification required driving Housing Authorities' vehicles, shall be required to possess a valid California driver's license, and maintain a good driving record while employed.

Employees serve a probationary period, usually six months long. In the event that performance is not satisfactory, employees maybe terminated without recourse during the probationary period.
